Art & Science with Olafur Eliasson

27.06.2017 - 14:15 to 15:30

IT University - Auditorium 1

Over the past decades, Olafur Eliasson has developed an immensely rich, curious and complex artistic practice at the intersection of aesthetics, science and ecology. His large scale installations employ light, vision, movement, and natural phenomena to heighten the viewer’s perceptual awareness and to encourage self-reflection.

In Eliasson’s words, “At its best, art is an exercise in democracy; it trains our critical capacities for perceiving and interpreting the world. Culture can inspire people to move from thinking to doing, and it holds the potential to inspire great social change.”
